Counter-Strike: Global Offensiven edellinen päivitys vei peliä oikeaan suuntaan rekyyli- ja balanssimuutoksillaan, mutta aiheutti paljon kohua ylitehokkaaksi osoittautuneella Desert Eaglella. Kahden osuman riittäminen tappoon pitkänkin matkan päästä oli liikaa ja aiheutti jopa aseen käytön kieltämisen joissakin matseissa. Valve tunnetusti kuuntelee yhteisöä ja puuttui ylitehokkuuteen uusimmassa pelipäivityksessä.
Päivityksen jälkeen Desert Eaglen balanssi verrattuna muihin pistooleihin on merkittävästi parempi. Sama päivitys lisäsi peliin ominaisuuden, jolla kaverien pelaamia otteluita voi seurata suoraan GOTV:n kautta.
